In an effort to keep things simple this year, I added just a few Christmas touches to our kitchen. Trader Joes has some fantastic fresh wreaths right now. I scooped up two little ones for the kitchen cabinets. I have never hung them here before, so wasn’t sure it would work but it really was simple. I cut the ribbon long enough to stretch over the door and then taped it on the backside of the door with one piece of white duct tape. It seems to be very secure.
It’s nice having the fresh smell of pine in the kitchen. I realize as they begin to dry out they will drop needles so I may have to replace them before Christmas rolls around. At $5 each I am willing to take the risk. I am normally on the side of not putting things above my cabinets, but for this time of year we put the pre-lit garlands on top. I love the glow and I think it really warms up the space for the holidays.
I filled a glass jar with shiny ornaments and it is sitting next to my gray and white frame {Nate Berkus for Target}. I also draped a few little circles from Minted on our chalkboard.
The towel is also a fun addition and was picked up at Target. I fell in love with it after seeing it in Megan’s bathroom.
And that is how we do Christmas in the kitchen! Oh, and I just noticed my tripod being reflected in our microwave! Oops! Do you add decorative touches to your kitchen during this time? I would love to know what you do.

I love it! Cute and festive without being over-the-top crazy. I just might make a trip to TJ's soon myself!
ReplyDeleteAdorable!! Love the wreath hung from a cabinet. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteSimple and elegant Courtney! Completely love the unexpected wreath on a kitchen cabinet (almost as much as I love all of your Christmas stripy decor this year;) xo
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is so pretty and I love the garland on top of the cabinets! Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the wreaths on the cabinets -- that looks gorgeous! My mother-in-law puts a big wreath on hr range hood, and I love it every year. :-) Thanks for sharing Christmas in your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteLove it all!! So pretty and fresh...and thank goodness for TJ! I like to put small strings of lights in wine bottles on my counters. I may or may not have a large collection. #hiccup
ReplyDeleteLove how simple and lovely it looks! Just the right touches to keep the kitchen looking both clean and festive.
ReplyDeleteLove the wreaths on the cabinets! What a great idea!! Wish I had time to get to Trader Joes. For the past several years, I have used all of my snowman decorations in my kitchen. I have several items that my kids have made (snowmen out of bricks and a drawing of a snowman my daughter made when she was 5, that I framed) and decorative plates that I display.
ReplyDeleteOooh good idea with lights above the cabinets! Pinning so I remember to do that!
ReplyDeletebeautiful touches! I love the lit garland on the cabinets! xo
ReplyDeleteLove it! The elves come out to play in ours, but right now they are awaiting their debut. Need them for a table setting at the church event this weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! So pretty and such a great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the lights too!
Gorgeous! Love the wreaths over the cabinet! And the twinkling lights at top! :)

ReplyDeleteLove all the little touches of red. ;) The pre-lit garland is pretty up there - I'll be it's so charming at night!
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you, I recently found your blog via Janell @ HOF and have been swimming in it (your blog!)! I was up on night (the night I found your blog) till 2 AM!! Ugh! The next day was rough...but, I really love your style and clean-organized look. Now you are one of my "dailies" I look so forward to everyday. Happy Holiday!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute touches :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you decorated your kitchen too! It just makes me want to decorate my entire house, every room! One day perhaps I'll collect enough decorations to do that. ;)
ReplyDeleteCourtney,
ReplyDeleteI really like this idea of the wreaths on the cabinet doors, how simple and nice for the holidays... I do not really decorate the kitchen much during the holidays, but I am always baking during this season, so there is always something festive on our counters like gingerbread man cookies or iced sugar cookies.
What a cute idea!!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is so pretty! I always love it! I just texted my husband to go to Trader Joe's today if he has time and get some wreaths!
