An Organized Office Space

I am excited to share with you the Martha Stewart Home Office™ with Avery™ line that I received to try out and have put to work in my home office. As most of you know, I don’t have an entire room dedicated to my office, but I have carved out a corner of our bonus room for keeping organized.
My office space serves double duty. It is a post for me to blog from and plan posts as well as a spot to keep all of my client files an invoices. This line, sold exclusively at Staples {available online in in store} has helped me become even more organized while still fitting in with my style.
I am also digging the elastic bands that can easily corral my files or client sample boards.

Because I am planning blog posts as well as client meetings, I keep a ton of lists. The Martha Stewart journal and sticky notes let me keep all of my lists nearby and in one place. I love how well the colors go together, too!

Please tell me I am not the only one who has one million lists going at one time! The holidays mean even more things going on, so I like to be on top of it so I don’t lose my mind!

I have shown my planning binder before, but this is the spot where I keep my holiday shopping and entertaining lists. I also use the Martha Stewart Calendar and love that I can sit at my desk for five minutes and check in with how I am doing for the holidays. The more I plan ahead, the calmer I feel!
It’s no secret I am a huge fan of all things chalkboard. It may even be a sickness at this point, but there is no denying how adorable they are.
I used the Chalkboard Labels from the Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery to label my pretty papers as well as my thank you note holder. I like that you can easily erase and reuse them anytime. Because they peel off so cleanly, I never worry about what I am sticking them to.
I have also used the chalkboard labels in my son’s room as well as in my fall decor. They come in different sizes but a little tip is that you can cut them in half as well! They cut really nicely.
Because I have a relatively small space to keep so many things organized, I like that I can keep things off my desk with the Shagreen Pocket. The pushpins make it simple to hang or you can choose to use an adhesive strip on the back.
I like that I can keep recent invoices within view until I file them away in the Shagreen Accordion File. This file works so well for me because it can lay flat on my desk or stand freely when I am done using it.

So that is a little peek into how I am trying to stay organized around here. You can check out more info about all of the Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery products here or with the Avery Facebook page. Or get your shopping on by purchasing online right here.

My favorite organization technique: write it down. Writing (or listing on the computer) my do to list and where I've stashed tools, etc. is an easy way to clear my mind of clutter. Jo @ Let's Face the Music, jamesonvaughn (at) verizon (dot) net

I stay organized with about 1,000 different list pads and my Sarah Pinto planner! I'd love to add some of that blue and red to my office to keep myself organized at work. I need to get rolling on client gifts/cards and some organization tools would help! This is a great giveaway – no one can resist Martha AND labels! :)

I do daily lists on the jumbo lined Post-its and appointments/dates go in my Vera Bradley planner-I started hers 4 years ago and they work best for me. Plus a larger to do list on computer paper for bigger projects going on/down the road. Pretty darn basic but it works for me!

  13. says

I save boxes starting in November and as I purchase presents, I place them in the box I'm going to wrap them in. It isn't very pretty, but saves time when it is time to start wrapping, and is hidden in a spare closet until the tree goes up!

  14. says

I love this line. I just moved and I'm ready to revamp our office. I have a closet sized room ready to dedicate it to it. I need a notebook like you showed here and notepads for my lists as well as a new planner. And since my office is truly the size of a closet, I need storage…and things to put my lists in. :)

Amazing! My organization tip is a google doc budget that my hubby and I can both access and enter what we spent on gifts (not for each other of course)!

  21. says

May I ask where you got your desk from? I love this space you have carved out for yourself; I need to do the same in our family room but I haven't been able to find a perfect desk– until I saw yours! Love your sense of style and practicality.

  22. says

I work in an office and love to be organized. Binders with dividers work very well for me, as well as neatly labeled file folders. I find it very difficult and distracting to work in an un-organized space!

  23. says

What an awesome giveaway. Even as a child I always asked for office supplies for Christmas and birthdays. This would make for a great Christmas gift :)

  24. says

I will stay organized by getting all my Xmas shopping done by end of November. I have overseas guests staying for 3 weeks over Xmas so I am also trying to do everything I can ahead of time so I'm not rushing around a few days before. Already pre-ordered the Ham! :)

I'm big into lists, and I've also just created a binder for meal planning, schedules, etc to keep in the kitchen. My next step is to set up a filing/mail station to keep those paper piles at bay!

  27. says

I've been using the notes app on my iPhone to keep lists of gift ideas for family members. I use the little emoji keyboard pictures for different things. Like a Santa face to show which gifts will be from Santa, and a big red X to mark what I've already purchased. In my pre-iPhone days, I kept an Excel spreadsheet, but I love having it with me all the time on my phone. I just have to make sure to close the app when I'm done looking at it so little eyes don't accidentally see it! :)

  28. says

I love this line-I've actually been planning a trip to Staples to check it out and drool some! :)

I plan to stay organized by sticking to my lists and also not buying gifts too far in advance. I tend to change my mind and end up having to return during the holiday season! NOT FUN! :)
