Friday Eye Candy

Happy Friday, my friends. I am so thrilled it’s the weekend. I will be busy designing the space for the HomeGoods bedroom makeover as well as trying to finish up drapes for my daughter’s room. Slow and steady over here! A few random thoughts for Friday . . . one[5] Taking my inspiration for my daughter’s drapes from this painting as well as from her duvet. We are keeping costs down by adding pom pom trim to ready made drapes. Hoping to share them with you next week. mintedpaintingtwo[5] Have you seen this piece transformed by Carmel from Our Fifth House? I honestly want to live in this room she has. It’s beyond. ourfifthhousethree[5] My girl, Jennifer, from The Chronicles of Home busted out her mad DIY skills to make a darling rope mirror. Love this. I would like to order one from her! ropemirror …   four[4] The Nordstrom Sale is winding down. I managed to squeeze in a quick shopping trip and picked up this and this. I also ordered this hoodie for cool summer nights. Always nice to have a light sweatshirt for over my swimsuit in the evening. bracelet bracelet five[4] A huge thank you to Marty over at A Stroll Thru Life. She could not be any sweeter and I am super honored to have been featured over there today. Thanks, Marty! You can check it out here.

    I know Riley's drapes will turn out beautifully. The pom pom trim will be fun! Love Carmel's room and Jennifer's mirror. Such talent! Cute finds from Nordstrom Courtney. Great bracelet and hoodie! I like every color in that hoodie. Happy Friday evening.

Friday Eye Candy

I came across these images from Horchow. I think they are jut beautiful. There is something about the mix of the stenciled wall, mirror, and pop of blue in this first image that makes me swoon. I suppose the gorgeous natural light coming in from  the French doors isn’t hurting either. And that chair. Dreamy. I am about to take on a stenciled wall . . . stay tuned and wish me luck! This color is similar to my bedroom, so of course it has me thinking, “Hmmmm . . . do I need a beautiful desk and chair like that.”   I recently saw a piece just like this one at HomeGoods. This whole space is perfect to me.   And this bathroom reads more like a gorgeous entry way or sitting area. So beautiful. Great fabric on the chair.         Happy New Year’s Eve!                Wishing you a    wonderful celebration with those you love.

    I think my favorite is the first image – I would love that to be in my home – somehow my visions and the way house projects turn out are never the same

Friday Eye Candy

This is a stunning 1930s Spanish Colonial home in Los Angeles. The family that lives here handed over their home to Ruthie Sommers and simply said, “Surprise us!” Wow. I love their ability to let go. And it certainly paid off. Check out this very family friendly home. The use of color is infectious. Wait until you see their ice cream parlor inspired breakfast nook! th1 th2th3th4th5                                           Would love for Santa to bring me these chairs for Christmas. th6th7th8th9th10th11 And that courtyard. I could spend all day out there. I just was really struck by how comfortable her style is. What do you think? Would you ever hand over your house and say, “Surprise me!” Happy Halloween to you and your families!!!! {images from Traditional Home}

    I love their house and especially that whimsical ice cream parlor inspired breakfast nook! How fun! The bedroom looks so crisp, simple and elegant. Great taste! I had to think about it a minute but I think I would hand over my house and say "surprise me"! It might be fun! I hope you and your kids have a Happy Halloween.

    Such a beautiful home and great interiors. Sure, I'd let someone go with it as long as I felt they got me and what I'd like and what would work for my family. Bravo to them! Happy Halloween.

    I would never in a million years be able to hand our house over!! I am far too much of a control freak!! Even if I knew they could do a better job than me. Weird,I know!

    I just love the process of planning and finding inspiration and planning some more and then the putting into place (bliss!). To miss out on all that would make me too sad for words.

    It is a very gorgeous house though!

    I can't even imagine giving control of my house decor over to someone else! I love the pale grey walls with bamboo shades and pops of color in the first few images. What a fun color scheme….thanks for sharing, Courtney!
