What a quick weekend. I almost didn’t post today because our weekend was extremely uneventful. Like big time! But that’s what makes it feel like a good one in so many ways. We were able to kick off the weekend on Friday night with friends and neighbors which is always fun. Here are snippets from our weekend with the Monday Morning Wrap-Up.
Much of the weekend looked like this! Pajamas and snuggle time in bed. Having traveled all last weekend it was really nice to just simmer down. I think it was 11:00 am each day before we actually left the house. We got things done around here, watched football and studied the 50 states! My daughter takes that test today so I am very sharp with my states and capitals right now! Ask me anything. We also made a list of the states we want to visit next.
In home style news, I had posted a few fabrics on Instagram and landed on these. So excited. A combination of these will make up window treatments and pillows. I will share photos as this all comes together. I fell in love with that Ikat fabric and had to have it. I don’t know the name of it but found it at Home Fabrics. It is special order and should be here in two weeks.
You know you have a crazy wife when she falls in love with a table that won’t fit in the car so you go in the back room to take it apart. Yep. It’s true. Luckily the hubby also loves the table so it was a joint decision. I have big plans for this and will update you soon.
Hello!!!!! Wow. I am crazy about this bathroom remodel by Sarah M. Dorsey. I have been following Sarah for years and she always creates the most gorgeous spaces. There is a simple elegance about her designs but each detail really creates such a cohesive and chic look. That floor! That subway tile. I just adore this. Well done, Sarah!!!
What’s For Dinner?
Made this over the weekend which is a huge fan favorite over here. It disappears off of the plates. I have failed lately in the menu planning process so I am hoping to get back into the swing of things and make a plan for this week. Life is so much easier at dinner time when I know what I am making and know that I actually have the ingredients. Not sure why I can’t make it more of a habit but this week it’s happening. I have become too cranky with the cooking process during homework and activity hour so meal planning it is. Anyone else have a hard time staying on track with that? Tips welcome. We need to stick together.
Thoughts on Monday
Here’s to a great week ahead. I had a fantastic conversation with someone at the Michaels Makers Summit. Nicole referenced how her two year old twins wake up so excited every day. We chatted about how adults moan and groan about Monday and can’t wait for Friday. It was a wake up call of sorts. I want to be more like those 2 year olds . . and my own children who love greeting the day. It’s almost like we have to change the narrative on our weeks and learn to be excited about Mondays rather than wishing the time away. Are you in?
